The Thrill of Plane Spotting

Who can take something extraordinary, like the exciting world of aviation, and make it even more amazing? Sam Chui, that’s who! Widely respected as one of the most prolific and expert aviation photographers in the skies today, Sam Chui is something of a legend among his fellow plane spotters, here at Star Helicopters.

No wonder! Star customer Sam Chui is responsible for some of the most magnificent aviation images ever captured on camera, and the author of Air2. Now Sam Chui and Star Helicopters invite you to find out more about plane spotting, the thrill of enjoying aviation by photographing it in action!

At any given time, at almost any airport in the world, you can find a small group of strangers intently observing and rapidly photographing the comings and goings of every category of airplane. In fact, if you’re reading this in an airplane, these aviation enthusiasts may be looking up at you, right now!

The sheer romanticism of flight and the celebration of technology are reasons enough to be entertained by watching aircraft soar into the air. But it’s even more fun to capture beautiful photographs of these wonderful flying machines as they take off and land directly below your hovering helicopter.

The top plane spotters in the world are quickly discovering Star Helicopters and enjoying the exceptional Plane Spotting Services that we offer.

Why Choose STAR HELICOPTERS for your next Plane Spotting flight???

  • STAR HELICOPTERS Gets You There Faster. Star Helicopters is located less than 3 miles from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). Ready for takeoff? So are we! We can have our helicopters started up, and flying mid-field at 1500 feet over the North and South complexes of LAX, in less than 10 minutes!
  • STAR HELICOPTERS Has the Best Location. No other helicopter company in Los Angeles is as close to LAX as Star Helicopters. In fact, our location is so close and our rates so low that you’d have to pay twice as much at any other company in Los Angeles just to get up in the air.
  • STAR HELICOPTERS Hires Only Top Pilots. Star Helicopters uses only high-flight-time experienced pilots for our Plane Spotter Service. Together, our pilots have conducted hundreds of photo flights at LAX.
  • STAR HELICOPTERS Gives You Flexibility. We can provide helicopter services for one to three Plane Spotters at a time.

.

The LAX Control Tower requires a minimum of 24 hour (Business Days) notice from us, prior to any Plane Spotting flights over LAX. Once a flight time has been scheduled we can not change the time unless we have another 24 hours notice to coordinate with LAX.

Enjoy some of the truly amazing pictures that some of our Plane Spotters have captured using Star Helicopters.
