Paul Turang Photography

What can you do when there’s really NO good vantage point from which to shoot your great project?

Get Higher with Star Helicopters!

After seeing our photos of the Pauley Pavilion renovation at UCLA, NBBJ Architects approached us looking to capture a compelling shot that shows the building in context of the campus. At first we thought it would be a straight forward shot from an adjacent roof, but after scouting several locations and finding them all less than ideal, we proposed an aerial view. Trying to capture an “architectural” view from a moving platform in low-light conditions was a photographic challenge. But with the right equipment and our experience in the air we came away with the compelling shot NBBJ was looking for using Star Helicopters.
